Introduction to working with the Recipe Center Program and
various Cookbooks. This Page will give
you a good idea of what you can do with

When you first open Recipe Center there may not be a Database, which is what the program calls a Cookbook in the functionality I’ve set up for use. Click on OK and the regular screen will start, this next screenshot is also with no Cookbook open.
If
you are running
After you click on
‘Database’, then ‘Open’ a list of the Cookbooks you have installed will be
displayed. Choose the Cookbook that will
have the recipe you want or just sounds like one you want to look through. In this case I’ve chosen the Recipe Center
Cookbook. When I click on it the
Cookbook will open. Click on Database at
any time to select a different Cookbook.
The Cookbook opens with the
first recipe in the Cookbook, in this case it’s a Apple-Yogurt Shake. Serving size on top, ingredients on the left,
directions on the right and a picture of the Shake below. You can select Yield and change the
Servings. The ingredient Quantities will
change automatically.
After changing the Serving
size Quantities changed, the changes affect the Shopping List amounts as
well. If you Print or Export the recipe
after changing the Servings it will be changed and remain the same.

When you click on Filter By a Drop Down Menu will appear that allows you to sort by Recipe name, Ingredients or Keywords. I entered Chicken in the Recipe box and got all the recipes that have Chicken in their Title. Very helpful if you’re looking for a specific type of recipe.

We’ll use this recipe for Holiday Pasta Special as an example of selecting a recipe, Printing it and Printing the Shopping List. First click on Recipe, then Print. Select the format, I’ve had the best luck with Standard with 8 ½ X 11 Paper.
After you select the
Printer then OK your recipe will print out showing Ingredients and Procedures
used to prepare the recipe.
You can also create New Recipes,
Modify Recipes, Copy Recipes or
You can then turn the sheet
of paper over and go back and click on Shopping List, then Print. The same Dialog Box will open then select
Standard for Print Style, choose your printer and clock OK.
You’ll notice I made a Shopping List for the Holiday Pasta Special alone. You can create as many Shopping Lists as you like and add the recipe you have open on the screen by clicking on Shopping List for the Pull Down Menu and Add Ingredients.
You can also Rename,
Any other Cookbook will work the same way and after a very little practice you’ll have a laptop in the Kitchen using this program! I hope you enjoy the Cookbook as much as I enjoyed putting it together. I have finished this series of Cookbooks. Check back to see if I've started any New Projects you might be interested in. There are more Cookbooks to discover and create!
